You'll never get wintery weather here, but rain showers are random and unpredictable. Oh, and the humidity!
You can walk around pretty safely in the small hours without getting mugged, but tabs (cigarettes) and booze are pretty expensive.
Cheap taxi fares compared to other countries, but at times demand outstrips the supply of taxis which aren't waiting for surcharge periods!
Trains and buses can get crowded and commuters won't think twice about shoving their way through, or not moving to the empty seat next to the window. At least by most standards they're frequent and reliable.
Try to get used to the local patois, a blend of Asian dialects and tongues and broken English.
You can get a wide variety of dishes in a single food court or hawker centre.
