Liverpool have completed the double signing of Deportivo La Coruna right-back Alvaro Arbeloa and Malaga midfielder Francisco Manuel Duran.
The duo signed after passing medicals, with 24-year-old defender Arbeloa believed to have cost Liverpool £2.6m.
"For me this is a beautiful challenge and I hope everything goes well. It's a huge leap for me," said Arbeloa.
Midfielder Duran, 18, came to Liverpool's attention after a impressing in the Malaga youth team.
Duran did not have a professional contract with the Spanish club, though he has made a first-team appearance.
And he said of his move to Liverpool: "It's a unique opportunity and I couldn't let it go by.
"I have spoken with Rafa Benitez, and I believe that this is the best option for me.
"To play for Liverpool is a dream for me and now I only desire to fight to play finally for the club."
Arbeloa joined Deportivo from Real Madrid last summer and said he was uncertain whether the transfer would happen.
"Until Tuesday I wasn't sure whether I was going to leave or not," Arbeloa told the club's website.
"My agent told me the deal was very advanced and I was then told that the deal had been reached between both clubs."
