Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher has signed a new four-year contract with the club.
The Scotland captain has signed until 2015, joining team-mates Michael Carrick, Patrice Evra and Ryan Giggs in agreeing contract extensions.
Fletcher has become an increasingly important member of the United squad after coming through the Old Trafford youth ranks.
The 27-year-old has made 288 appearances and scored 21 goals since his United debut in March 2003,
He has won three Premier League titles, the FA Cup, two League Cups, the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
“I take great pride in playing for Manchester United,” Darren Fletcher said to the club’s website.
“I have won many trophies in my years playing here and I am looking forward to winning many more in the seasons to come. I would like to thank everyone at the club.”
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson is also delighted to have secured the player’s short-term future
