Ferguson has targeted former Marseille attacker Ribery in the past and attempted to land the crafty wide man when he moved from the south of France to the Allianz Arena in the summer of 2007 and the pint sized winger may now be ready for a new challenge.
Man United’s chances of snapping up Franck Ribery could be greatly helped if Bayern Munich fail to secure Champions League football for next season. The German giants currently sit in fourth spot which this season only secures a Europa League spot.
Sir Alex Ferguson has been looking at ways to increase the creativity of his midfield and Ribery can play in the hole behind the strikers as well as his more common role on the wing. During his four seasons at Bayern Munich the 28 year old has netted 50 goals and helped with 67 assists helping the club to two domestic titles.
There has been some speculation that Nani is a target of Italian giants Inter Milan but it is though that Ferguson may look to bring Ribery in as an advanced midfielder, which seems more likely given that Man United also have the likes of Luis Antonio Valencia to use on the other wing.
