Liverpool central defender Jamie Carragher is likely to start after coming on as a substitute in the win over Tottenham on Saturday.
Daniel Agger or Sami Hyypia will have to make way at the back while Reds boss Rafael Benitez also faces a decision on recalling Peter Crouch.
Striker Crouch has started on the bench for the last four games.
But he could come in for Craig Bellamy or Dirk Kuyt as the trio battle it out for an attacking berth.
Liverpool (from): Reina, Finnan, Carragher, Agger, Riise, Luis Garcia, Sissoko, Alonso, Gerrard, Kuyt, Bellamy, Crouch, Pennant, Gonzalez, Dudek, Hyypia, Warnock, Aurelio, Zenden, Paletta, Fowler.
Head-to-heads
Liverpool and Galatasaray have met twice before. Both ties in the 2001-02 CL season were drawn. On 20 February 2002 they fought out a goalless draw. One week later, the reverse fixture ended 1-1l, through goals by Radu Niculescu and Emile Heskey.
Liverpool's only previous encounters with Turkish opposition came in the 1976-77 Champions Cup second round. The Reds beat Trabzonspor 3-0 at Anfield after having suffered a 1-0 away defeat. Galatasaray have travelled to England six times before, without ever winning a European match (drawn three, lost three).
