France coach Raymond Domenech has called up Nicolas Anelka for their Euro 2008 qualifiers against Scotland and the Faroe Islands.
The Bolton striker, who has not played for Les Bleus since the meeting with Slovakia in March this year, has been drafted in as cover for Louis Saha and Sidney Govou, who are both struggling with injuries.
Domenech said of the duo: "We will see by Saturday how the situation has evolved. But we have solutions in place."
Anelka, who has scored seven goals in 31 international appearances, will join up with the French squad at their camp in Clairefontaine on Thursday afternoon.
France play Scotland on Saturday and host the Faroes on October 11.

France coach Raymond Domenech claims Scotland will be a more difficult obstacle to overcome than World Cup winners Italy.
Les Bleus travel to Hampden Park on Saturday for their Euro 2008 qualifier having already avenged their World Cup final defeat by the Italians.
Domenech's side beat Georgia 3-0 away and Italy 3-1 at the Stade de France to leave them behind Scotland at the top of Group B only on goal difference.
France defender William Gallas claimed the Scots would be "quaking in their boots" but his coach moved to rule out any suggestions of over-confidence in the French camp.
He said: "Please do not underestimate the importance of this match with Scotland. For me it is of massive importance.
"It's going to be a a very big challenge for us to go there and win the game.

Oh man... the former Newcastle defender... that guy that always make mistake one... Boumsong is playing for France!
But the injured William Gallas was replaced by former Rangers defender Jean-Alain Boumsong, while Manchester United star Louis Saha had to settle for a place on the bench.
No wonder they can lose to the Scots...
Scotland 1 - 0 France

Scottish Football Association chief executive David Taylor insists his national team is not getting carried away by the Euro 2008 qualifying form.
Scotland made it three qualifying wins out of three with a stunning 1-0 victory over France on Saturday.
Taylor told BBC Five Live Sport: "We have another seven games to play so we are keeping our feet on the ground.
"We have a very difficult game against Ukraine on Wednesday but we've certainly got off to a great start."

France striker Thierry Henry warned Scotland that they may have won the battle but they have not yet won the war.
A Gary Caldwell goal gave Walter Smith's side a dramatic 1-0 win over the World Cup runners-up in their tense Euro 2008 qualifier at Hampden Park.
Arsenal star Henry was less than magnanimous in his analysis of the game.
He said: 'We had the opportunity to win but it doesn't matter. What I want to say is that you have to be there at the end and we will see who is going to go through.
