England need Beckham back?

Thats a problem many teams have but it doesn't stop them from playing as a team... The S Korea team that went to the semis 4 yrs ago didn't have a playmaker too even the italy team that won the WC didn't have one also compare to France who had one... and they still won the WC cos they played as a team... and if you start to think about totti, he played most of the games coming off the bench during the WC...Originally posted by Parka:

Playmakers are important but not every team will have one, The Scots that beat the French... didn't have one also, they played as a cohesive team. And that is more important than any playmaker will be... -
Lampard as the attacking midfielder is no playmaker as well. He is only interested on trying his luck from far far away... He should be the one creating as an attacking midfielder but sadly, he continue to think he is the striker...Originally posted by stevenliew:

Newcastle's Taylor urged to follow Terry

Newcastle United boss Glenn Roeder has told young defender Steven Taylor to study Chelsea centre-half John Terry to improve his game.
Like Terry, Taylor is hoping to one day make the leap from Under-21 star to senior international as Roeder insisted the product of the Newcastle Academy should be looking to style himself on the England skipper.
"I've told Steven that he should watch every game that John Terry plays in," said Roeder.
"He should be analysing his performances, everything he does in a game and looking to bring it in his own performances. I don't think there is a better role model for a young centre-back than Terry.
"Steven should be looking at the way he attacks the ball when he heads it, the way he tackles, the way he holds himself and the positions he takes.
"We are working with Steven every day on the training pitch, as we are with all the defenders here but, when he goes home, it will also help him to watch how players of Terry's ability play the game." -
After last night match, England clearly need to bring Beckham back... But the bigger problem is McClaren is not the right man to manage the team. He is making England look like they were Middlesbrough...
Someone had to make the decision soon, Its either Gerrard of Lampard. But i would say let Gerrard have the attacking midfield role cos clearly in all the games Lampard played as the attacking midfielder, England's attack is not creative at all!
Didn't McClaren learn anything from the WC?

England boss Steve McClaren will not rule out recalling David Beckham, according to his adviser Max Clifford.
Some England fans called for the Real Madrid player to be brought back following the 2-0 defeat by Croatia.
"Steve McClaren is not too proud, McClaren has not selected former England skipper Beckham in any of his squads since taking over from Sven-Goran Eriksson at the end of August.
Clifford - who is an adviser to McClaren's - says not selecting Beckham initially was a wise decision by the new England manager.
"What it did was stamp his authority and say 'I'm not Sven's assistant, I'm my own man'," Clifford said.
"He's got to build a relationship with the national media - there's an awful lot to do. -
To be honest, i don't think he should even bother to come back into such a team. As you have said, why would he want to be the scapegoat of this team? The current team got no scapegoat to point the finger to at the moment. McClaren's England can't go very far at all... maybe will be worst than Sven's i think. -
They juz lack players that dare to run at defences. pass n pass in the midfield area. den high ball to crouch or to flank.

BeckhamÂ’s former Manchester United team-mate Mark Bosnich insists McClaren will not pick the Real star because the pair do not get on.
Bosnich said: “From my days at United I know there is a personality clash between McClaren and Beckham.
“He should put that aside and Beckham should have been involved. There is a midfield crisis and he’s still one of the best in the world and is not even mentioned about getting picked. That’s not right.” -
Rooney got attitude problem. He think he is the best player out there. For beckham, he can play but i guess he having too much stressful to play for England.

WENGER - ENGLAND MAY NEED BECKHAM
Arsene Wenger believes England manager Steve McClaren may yet turn to former captain David Beckham in a bid to resurrect their faltering Euro 2008 qualifying campaign.
The Real Madrid midfielder has not been included by McClaren since he took over from Sven-Goran Eriksson after the World Cup.
Wenger can understand why McClaren decided to forge ahead without him but notes how his home country France reached the World Cup final after recalling some senior players for the qualifiers.
Wenger said: "McClaren maybe thought it was time for a new era and you always try that. In France, we tried that as well when [Raymond] Domenech took over.
"You bring the new players in and after a while you think maybe for that kind of game you need experience.
"France brought [Zinedine] Zidane, [Claude] Makelele and [Lilian] Thuram back and we needed that to qualify.
"They did well in the World Cup because at that level experience is important."
Wenger was approached by the Football Association to consider taking charge of England following the resignation of Kevin Keegan in October 2000.
