Arsene: I'm being robbed
ARSENE WENGER has accused international bosses of behaving like car thieves. He says they push players to the limit without worrying about the consequences.
Wenger said: “I feel like a man who has given the double of his key to a mate. The guy comes, takes your car, uses it for 10 days and leaves it in the middle of a field without any petrol.
“National team managers have the law with them and they have practically all chosen to act the same way. The easy way.
Playing 12 or 14 qualifying games in 10 or 12 months is madness.”
Surprisingly, Wenger revealed ex-England boss Sven Goran Eriksson did show respect for clubs.
Wenger added: “Sven is the only one who called regularly, who came by and talked. But he had managed big clubs and knew their problems.
“I never have the others on. They give you back the players and you never know what state they’re in.” -

DAVID DEIN’S pay has doubled to a whopping £500,000 — just months after being labelled a tightwad by Ashley Cole.
Arsenal’s vice-chairman picked up a £250,000 bonus after the Gunners’ run to the Champions League final last season.
Managing director Keith Edelman earned £1.038m.
Cole quit Arsenal for Chelsea in the summer after a long-running row when Dein and his fellow directors haggled over a £5,000-a-week pay rise.
Arsenal’s wage bill has soared to £83m, up from £66m the previous year, and is second to Chelsea’s £109m-a-year payroll. -

Theo Walcott's match-winning substitute appearance for England Under-21 this week was timely for his sponsor, Nike, whose first major ad campaign featuring the Arsenal forward has just been launched.
Walcott appears with Aaron Lennon in a poster campaign for the Nike Five sportswear range and participated in features for magazines including 4-4-2 and Men's Health.
Nike has supported Walcott since spotting him as a 14-year-old trainee with Southampton and signed a seven-figure renewal shortly before the teenager joined Arsenal last season, but Wenger's stance means the company has had limited returns on its investment until now. The Frenchman insisted that Walcott be left to concentrate on football for the first six months of his time at Arsenal and did not give him a first-team debut until this season. -

THEO WALCOTT has found the perfect training ground teacher — Thierry Henry.
ArsenalÂ’s wonderkid reckons working alongside the GunnersÂ’ French ace is just the education he needs to become a superstar hitman himself.
And if his brilliant England Under-21 double against Germany was anything to go by, HenryÂ’s magic is already rubbing off on the 17-year-old ace.
His second strike in Tuesday night’s 2-0 win bore all the hallmarks of the maestro himself — the lightning pace, the brilliant run and the fantastic finish.
And Walcott believes anything is possible with the Arsenal skipper showing him the way.
He said: “I train with Thierry every day and some of his finishing is unbelievable.
“It’s best to learn from the best players and Thierry is there as the best. How can you not improve by working with someone like him?
“I learned so much. The preparation some players go through before big games, the big atmospheres. You can’t get bigger than the World Cup. I didn’t expect it but it was brilliant for me.”

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed Freddie Ljungberg will not be available for the Premiership match with Watford or the Champions League trip to Moscow next week.
Emmanuel Eboue (knee) and Julio Baptista (hamstring) are also out, while Wenger is waiting on news of William Gallas but expects the French centre-back to be fit.
"Unfortunately when you have so many players away you can have some bad news," said the Arsenal manager.
"At the moment we have three injuries. They will be out for Saturday and Tuesday, for sure. -
Arsenal will be looking to pick up where they left off before the international break when they entertain struggling Watford on Saturday.
The Gunners have impressed in winning their last five games in all competitions, while Watford have yet to record a Premiership victory this season.
However, the fortnight away with their countries has taken its toll on Arsene Wenger's squad, with key players returning injured and others likely to need rest.

Thierry: Referee is a disgrace
THIERRY HENRY last night slammed Spanish ref Manuel Gonzalez for ruling out his effort for handball.
Arsene Wenger saw his side crash to their first Champions League defeat of the season but Henry raged: “It’s a disgrace.
“I asked the ref what did he see and he couldn’t tell me. He said at the end he didn’t want to talk about it anymore.
“He was happy to talk about other stuff with the boss but not that.
“It was a clear goal from me, whatever you want to say about it.
“I’m sorry but, once again, I don’t know what to say about that. To give me a yellow straight away — please, look at the replay.”
Henry also hinted Arsenal are short-changed by European referees who give favourable decisions to the big teams. -
Cesc Fabregas has signed his new eight-year contract with Arsenal.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger revealed last month the 19-year-old Spain midfielder was set to agree a new deal to keep him at the north London club until 2014.
Fabregas, who joined Arsenal from Barcelona three years ago, had been linked with a move to Real Madrid but had stated his intention to stay at the Emirates Stadium.
He told the club's official website: "I am so happy here and I am delighted to have signed this new contract that will keep me at the club for years to come.
"I wanted to pay back the club, especially Arsene Wenger for the support and faith he has shown in me.
"What is important now is for the team to realise its potential and win trophies. That is our main aim, that is my aim as well."
Fabregas' agent Joseba Diaz had earlier told Spanish website sport.es that the midfielder had put pen to paper.
"It is a fabulous contract for the player and also for the club," he said.
"Cesc feels very happy with how much Arsenal value him and in the knowledge that Arsenal are going to build their future around him." -

frankly, if one reads into the football matches, be very afraid of this current crop of players in Arsenal..
their captain is at his prime and he will be for a couple more years..
the rest of the team are still learning their craft and are still maturing.. and are already playing astounding football..
the hard time Chelsea took to overcome Reading which was nonchalantly taken apart by Arsenal's young squad, speaks volumes...
you may be looking at a squad which may dominate in the next few years.. and looking at the young age of most of the squad, they may be dominating for a long time if they can manage to keep these players..
