DAVID JAMES hopes Paul RobinsonÂ’s nightmare error will help him force his way back into the England squad.
But amazingly James — nicknamed Calamity after all his own cock-ups — did not even watch the game.
The Portsmouth keeper has 34 caps but was axed by Steve McClaren despite being a regular under Sven Goran Eriksson.
James, 36, has been in blistering form for Pompey this season and he is desperate to regain his national place in the wake of Robinson’s howler against Croatia. James said: “Having been in that situation I can tell you it is not a very nice feeling.
“I’ve not seen it myself but from what people have told me I’d not wish it on anyone.
“That said, it has given me another chance. If I am asked then I will be ready for it. I would be delighted to resume my international career.” -
So fast on youtube liao... Robinson is a good keeper but unfortunately, he will always be remembered for this rather than the saves he made.
Cos even David James never made such a mistake...
