The world of football has been plunged into shock and confusion after Ipswich Town confirmed that they would like to sign Newcastle 'defender' Titus Bramble and may even pay money to acquire his services.
In a sensational development that has already prompted many to question whether the date of April Fools' Day had been moved, Tractor Boys manager Jim Magilton claimed that he would leap at the chance to sign the player if, as expected, Newcastle put Bramble on the transfer list for the January sales.
Suggestions that Magilton may have been speaking under duress, or has mistakenly identified Bramble, are set to be investigated after he inexplicably described the Toon man as "a quality defender".

"If there was a possibility of signing Titus I would do it right now," Magilton told the East Anglian Daily Times.

"He is a quality defender who is playing at Premiership level and we know all about him. So, yes, absolutely I would bring him here.

"We have not asked about him as yet, but if he is available and would like to come here, then we will be in there finding out."
