MADRID, Spain Real Madrid striker Antonio Cassano was sidelined from training Monday for insulting coach Fabio Capello.
Cassano, who joined Real Madrid from AS Roma in January, trained alone at the club's Valdebebas Sport City after showing "a lack of respect" toward Capello after Saturday's Spanish league match against Gimnastic Tarragona, which Madrid won 3-1.
Spanish National Radio said Cassano insulted Capello at the airport after the match, allegedly for not having been given a chance to play.
It was known how long he will be sidelined from the first team. The club said he would also be fined.
Capello, who took over at Madrid this season, originally had Cassano on the starting list but in recent weeks has kept him on the bench. Cassano has always said he considers Capello his soccer mentor.

I thought he was his ex-player godson kind of thing... Fabio Capello came over he would benefit most from it, but it seems not...
