Chelsea have made Aaron Lennon their number one transfer target, according to reports in Saturday's press.
Both the Daily Express and The Times claim that Jose Mourinho is planning an audacious move for the Tottenham youngster during the January transfer window.
The Blues, who play Spurs at White Hart Lane on Sunday, apparently made enquiries about Lennon after his displays for England after the World Cup, but were rebuffed.
However, with Chelsea reportedly now prepared to offer Shaun Wright-Phillips plus cash in exchange for Lennon, Spurs could now be tempted.
Lennon's Tottenham contract is not due to expire until 2010.

Elyounussi hoping Chelsea come back in for him
Norwegian starlet Tarik Elyounussi has admitted he would love the chance to link up with Chelsea. The Premiership giants tried to get Elyounussi to England for a trial in the summer and then again this month, but they were foiled as Fredrikstad are due to play in the Norwegian Cup final.
However, Elyounussi has now revealed that Chelseas summer attempt failed because of a problem with the then Fredrikstad director Arve Mokkelbost. "That was a bummer," Elyounussi said of the failed summer bid.
But the 18-year-old forward is hopeful Chelsea will maintain their interest. "Of course Im flattered. Chelsea is a big club," he told Fredrikstad Blad.
"This could be an interesting experience for me. It will be good for me too see how a big club like that is administrated, and I would hopefully get to see a match as well."

Don't think Spurs will sell Aaron Lennon even for a reported 20 mln pounds. Neither will he want to go as he won't be promised a starting place all the time unlike at Spurs. Although Chelsea are using Sean Wright-Phillips as a makeweight for Lennon, SWP is a right winger as well and wad Spurs need is a left winger.
So, sorry Chelski, this move won't materialise.

Mourinho rules out Lennon move
Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho ruled out a move for winger Aaron Lennon after the youngster condemned his side to a 2-1 defeat at Tottenham.
England international Lennon was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the days leading up to Sundays fixture, but Mourinho firmly quashed any further speculation over Chelseas interest in signing the 19-year-old.
Lennon scored a superb second-half winner at White Hart Lane to earn Spurs their first league win over the Blues for 16 years.
Mourinho declared: "No, completely not interested. The boy is good, but we have no interest in buying or changing anything. Our interest is to keep Shaun Wright-Phillips - who was supposedly involved in any deal. No way. Its not true." -
