Bayern linked with move for Toni
Reports in Germany suggest Bayern Munich are keen to sign Fiorentina striker Luca Toni.
The 29-year-old Italy international has been a regular scorer for the Serie A outfit, netting 36 goals in only 47 appearances for the club since his switch from Palermo in August 2005.
Kicker claims that Bayern supremo Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is about to open talks with Tonis management.
Bayern are keen to sign a new striker as speculation grows that the club will allow Peru international Claudio Pizarro to leave next year. -
Charlton insist Bent is not for sale
Charlton chief executive Peter Varney has insisted Darren Bent will not be sold in the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old striker, who has scored six of the Addicks nine Premiership goals this season, has been linked with a move away from The Valley, possibly to Old Trafford.
But Varney told the South London Press: "Darren signed a new, improved four-year deal in the summer and we have no intention of selling him. Hes a key part of our side and of our hopes of staying up. There have been no enquiries from Manchester United or anyone else for that matter." -
Pique wants Zaragoza stay
Zaragoza centre half Gerard Pique would consider staying at the club beyond his one-year loan deal.
Pique, 19, contracted to Manchester United, has now cemented his place at the heart of Zaragozas defence and helped them climb to third in the Liga table.
"I have sometimes thought that I would like to stay here for another year," he said.
"I am very happy in both my personal life and sporting one. However, there is no hurry in making a decision. There is plenty of time to speak about my future from January, and I have not ruled anything out."
Pique revealed that United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been in contact to ask how he is getting on in Spain.
"[Ferguson] called me after the match with Villarreal, in which I started and scored a goal. I told him I was happy here and thanked him for giving me the opportunity to play in Zaragoza."
For now, the player - who has scored two goals this season - is happy to help the club in its endeavours.
"I am happy with my work. The most important thing is that the team continue to win and that we climb the table." -
Man U youngster Jones hoping to extend Colchester stay
Manchester United rookie Ritchie Jones admits he would like to extend his loan spell at Colchester.
The 20-year-old midfielders initial month-long deal expires after the Us home clash with Hull next Tuesday.
Jones has been restricted to substitute appearances so far, but with first-team chances far more sparse at Old Trafford he would be happy to consider staying on at Layer Road.
"My loan spell was a month originally but well have to wait and see what happens," he told the Evening Gazette.
"The team are playing well, so I knew I couldnt walk straight into the starting line-up. The initial loan spell will come to an end soon but Im really enjoying it at Colchester." -

Paris Saint Germain are reportedly chasing Gabriel Heinze and Tobias Linderoth.
French newspaper L'Equipe claims that, following a difficult start to the season, the Ligue 1 outfit will seek winter reinforcements.
But any move for Manchester United defender Heinze, 28, appears unlikely to succeed, with the Argentina international a firm favourite at Old Trafford.
However, PSG are hoping to succeed with a loan bid for their former player, as Patrice Evra's impressive performances have limited Heinze's first-team opportunities of late. -

Dhorasoo thinking over Bolton option
Vikash Dhorasoo is pondering his next move ahead of Januarys transfer window with Bolton Wanderers still an option open to the former Paris Saint Germain man.
The experienced midfielder was sacked by PSG after a very public fall-out with the management.
Agent Alain Migliaccio has told France Football that Bolton are one of a number of clubs pursuing his client, but obviously nothing can happen until the New Year.
"Bolton are still attracted, as are two other English sides," Migliaccio stated.
"But I know the English clubs well. Even if they show an interest, that doesnt mean they will make an offer to the player. We have contacts with several clubs. The only trouble is he cant get a contract with English, Spanish or Italian clubs before January. So we will take stock at the beginning of the winter window. But Vikash will continue playing, thats for sure." -
Tottenham agree deal for Alnwick
Alnwick had been linked with Spurs over the summer
Sunderland keeper Ben Alnwick will join Tottenham in January, in a deal that also sees Spurs' Martin Fulop make his loan deal permanent at The Black Cats.
In addition, Sunderland will also receive a cash payment of £1m.
Hungarian stopper Fulop did not receive international clearance in time to feature for Sunderland against Wolves on Friday.
However, the 6 feet 5 inch keeper is set to be part of the squad which travels to QPR on Tuesday.
