Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Boca Juniors youngster Emiliano Insua after he arrived in England to tie up a loan move.
A fee of around $150,000 (just under £80,000) is due to be paid for the loan arrangement with the option of a permanent purchase next year.
The left back is to watch Liverpools UEFA Champions League assignment with PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday night to get a flavour of Anfield.
The deal was set up in October and prompted some outcry in Argentina with so many of their young talents being lured to Europe at an early age.
Boca are resigned to losing the 17-year-old and also negotiated the sale of Sebastian Ruscelleda to a group of businessmen on Wednesday.
The South American outfit are also expected to sell Fernando Gago to Real Madrid in January.
