StarHub Wins Exclusive Broadcast Rights For Barclays English Premier League
Singapore, 23 November 2006 – StarHub has won exclusive rights for the next three seasons of the Barclays English Premier League (EPL), commencing from the 2007/2008 season, for the Singapore market.
"StarHub has been the place where Singaporeans watch EPL for the past ten seasons, and we are pleased that we are able to continue our exclusive offerings of unbeatable EPL content for our customers for the next three seasons. The difference this time around is that the rights include broadband and mobile broadcast rights, so it fits perfectly with our Hubbing strategy. Our customers can look forward to getting EPL from StarHub over any of our three service platforms, regardless of where they are or what device they choose to use," said Mr Mike Reynolds, Head of Integrated Products and Marketing, StarHub.
"StarHub is very committed to providing the best EPL experience for fans in Singapore. We are pleased to be able to partner a dynamic company such as StarHub to ensure that all the best action is available across a range of platforms," said Mr Richard Scudamore, Premier League Chief Executive.
The EPL rights will give StarHub exclusive broadcast rights to as many as 380 EPL matches on all three of its platforms – cable TV, mobile and online.
StarHub is currently SingaporeÂ’s largest pay-TV operator and second largest info-communication company. It is also the leading Internet Service Provider with the highest download speed in Singapore. -
pui!!! wat for name tis when starhub is the ONLY provider? this jz give them a reason to charge consumers more and more every year by reporting buying rights of millions... singtel is jz helping starhub to make it sound like theres competition... gone are the days of free international sports on tv...

So... now that starhub has won, would this mean from the 2007/2008 season onwards we will see more people like Mark richmond and his father and PN sivaji commenting on the match preview, during half-time and at the end of the match?

Singtel lets Starhub make use of their name, get some benefits back in return, Starhub gets the rights, pass it back to Espn to broadcast then... We kena squeeze!
WTH... was Singtel involve for also i don't know in the first place... they don't even have a license to broadcast tv content...
