Wigan Athletic v Liverpool
Ch 24 - 11:00pm - (Live)
WIGAN ATHLETIC will be looking to capitalise on Liverpool's abysmal away League form and record their sixth victory of this Premiership season on the eve of manager Paul Jewell's 2,000th day in charge.
Last season's surprise package got off to a slow start this term, but staged a mini revival of four wins out of four in October and November. Since then they've held Aston Villa to a goalless home draw and lost away to Spurs.
The Latics are yet to gain a point or score a goal in a League match against Liverpool in their history. The Reds achieved the 'double' with an aggregate of 4-0 in their inaugural Premiership clashes last season.
Henri CAMARA is Wigan's top scorer with five goals, all scored in the Premiership.
Wigan have three remaining Premiership ever-presents. SCHARNER, Emmerson BOYCE and Chris KIRKLAND have been on the field for every minute of every one of the Latics' League fixtures.
If he keeps goal again, KIRKLAND will be making his 100th club career appearance (Coventry, Liverpool, West Brom and Wigan).
LIVERPOOL extended their unbeaten home Premiership record to 24 matches midweek. But a goalless draw with Portsmouth left them in seventh place, 16 points off the pace. They're still two points short of a top four Champions League spot, which must be the minimum requirement from this League campaign.
The Merseysiders are unbeaten on their Champions League trips, but domestically they've managed just two points on their travels from draws at Sheffield United and Middlesbrough. Robbie Fowler's penalty at Bramall Lane is their only away League goal. They've not scored in 610 minutes (10 hours 10 minutes) of Premiership football on the road and have not netted from open play in an away League game since Djibril Cisse's effort at Portsmouth three minutes from the end of last season, on 7 May.
Peter CROUCH is Liverpool's top scorer with nine goals.
REINA and Steven GERRARD are the only players to have figured in at least a part of each of Liverpool's Premiership games this season.
