DEFOE FUTURE IN THE BALANCE?
Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on Jermain Defoe's situation at Tottenham.
The England striker was dropped for Saturday's 3-0 derby defeat at Arsenal, a decision which was said to have angered his team-mates.
And according to The Mirror, Defoe was left devastated to be axed by Martin Jol again despite scoring a stunning goal in the previous game against Wigan.
Although he's likely to be back for Tuesday night's home game with Middlesbrough, Spurs' attacking options have made Defoe's position in the side far from certain this season.
Aston Villa are also another Premiership club rumoured to be interested in his services should he decide to leave White Hart Lane. -
