Charlton v Aston Villa The Valley
CHARLTON ATHLETIC are still smarting from the awful refereeing decision, which gave Fulham a last ditch free kick at the Valley on Tuesday night from which they scored to equalise 2-2, and so deny Alan Pardew all three points on his managerial debut for the Addicks. Now they take on an Aston Villa side in the lunchtime kick-off, who lie at the foot of the Premiership's "Last Six Current Form" table and must therefore be short on confidence.
Pardew's new club are one place and two points off the foot of the table, and seven points short of safety. They've lost more matches (13) and dropped more points (47) than any other club in the highest division and are chasing a first victory in five League outings.
DARREN BENT is Charlton's top scorer with nine. He has netted seven in the Premiership, five more than any other club mate.
MARCUS BENT is one shy of 100 club career goals.
ASTON VILLA go to the Valley, winless in eight games and on a three match losing streak. They've drawn 50% of their League matches (10 of 20), and have nosedived from an impressive third place in mid-November, to a position where they're only hanging on to a top half berth by goal difference.
Manager Martin O'Neill was given all the plaudits when his side remained unbeaten for the first 11 League and Cup games in his tenure, but the cold truth is that they've won just five Premiership matches all season, and only one of those has been on the road (0-1 at Everton on 11 November).
Villa won the reverse fixture 2-0 in September, and are vying for a third Premiership 'double' over Charlton and first since 2003-04.
Gareth BARRY is Villa's top scorer, with eight goals - seven in the Premiership.
Gabriel AGBONLAHOR is the only remaining player to have been on the field for every minute of every one of Villa's Premiership fixtures.
