JOSE MOURINHO has finally lost patience with £30million Chelsea flop Andriy Shevchenko. The striker will be dumped from Blues’ starting line-up for today’s clash with neighbours Fulham. And his next action could be against Macclesfield when boss Mourinho sticks out his reserves for next weekend’s FA Cup third-round clash.
Blues also face Aston Villa away on Tuesday night. But Shevchenko, 30, has had his confidence shot to bits by failing to come to terms with life in England.
A pal of the striker revealed: “Andriy is very down. This week has been the worst yet of his time at Chelsea. “He is desperate to do well but no matter how hard he tries nothing comes off.”
Boss Mourinho believes he has given Shevchenko every chance to make an impact. But he has finally run out of patience with the Ukrainian as Blues bid to close a four-point gap on title rivals Manchester United.
Sheva has managed just three Premiership goals all season and scored just once in his last 11 games. And he was subbed for the 12th time in 15 Premiership starts with less than an hour gone in BluesÂ’ 2-2 draw with Reading on Boxing Day.
