Blackburn star Robbie Savage has agreed a one-year extension to his contract at Ewood Park.
Rovers boss Mark Hughes revealed after Saturday's win over Middlesbrough that the former Leicester man had agreed to extend his stay at the club.
Savage has established himself as a key member of Hughes' side since arriving from Birmingham in January 2005.
Savage is expected to put pen-to-paper on the contract next week which will keep him at Ewood Park until the summer of 2009 and Hughes was delighted to keep the all-action midfielder at the Lancashire outfit.
"Robbie deserved the extension because he has been playing arguably the best football since he has been at the club and he is a big influence both on the field and off it," said Hughes.
