BALLACK BLAMES CHELSEA TACTICS
MICHAEL BALLACK claims his disappointing start to life at Chelsea is down to Jose Mourinho's tactics.
Ballack, 30, has failed to have an impact after joining on a free transfer from Bayern Munich in the summer. And the German international insists his failure to adapt to life in the Premiership is a direct result of the way the champions play.
He said: "I would have hoped there would be more crosses in the air for me to score from. "At Munich the tactics were similar but there were far more crosses. "The game we play is slightly different from what I was used to. The full-backs do not press forward as they did at Bayern. "And if we sometimes change and play with forwards on the wings, they are the type of players that like to get the ball into the box and try to score rather than pass it on.
"That situation makes it more difficult for me to play to my strengths, like heading the ball into the net." Ballack scored 57 goals in 153 appearances for Bayern but has netted just three in 24 games under Mourinho.
The irony is, of course, that it is Mourinho's reshuffling to fit Ballack into the midfield that has forced the Portuguese to leave out his more natural wingers.

I think Ballack and Shevchenko are also one of the reason... They spent so much not just on their transfer fee but also on their salaries for the purpose of winning more titles this year. Instead they are beginning to look like what Real Madrid were last year... Too many big names, too many super star status in a team. And all maybe too individual want to score themselves...
But i still think their current form could just be temporary only... may start winning again by the next match... -
is ballack game all about goals?wtf. yes i know he scores alot with his head, but if there is a need to alter playing style, i rather chelsea alter to the style of shevchenko rather den ballack.

sheva's inability to score is the fault of the midfield.
he hardly had any chances.

actually its more of the other teams stepping up when playing big teams. and chelsea and manu have the tendency to be super complacent

I think it is not just down to complacency... Cos most of the time its not easy for big teams to keep the momentum going for the full 90 mins especial when they are so used to winning matches... The mentality of the players on the team losing is normally more enthusiastic than the team winning... The leading team usually will feel more nervous around that time especially when they are only leading by 1 goal...
