DIRK KUYT claims Liverpool can catch Jose Mourinho's stuttering Chelsea. Liverpool moved to within five points of Chelsea after beating them at Anfield last weekend.The Dutch striker claims confidence is high again among the Reds following their traumatic cup defeats by Arsenal and their win was their eighth from their last nine league games.
"It was important that we got a victory on Saturday after what happened against Arsenal in the cup games at Anfield, but it was also important because the win came against Chelsea," said Kuyt.
"We're only five points behind them now and with 14 games left, there's still a long way to go. "We've shown recently that we can win away games and against Chelsea we showed that we can also win big games." And Kuyt claims Liverpool's first Premiership win over Chelsea under Rafa Benitez has also sent out a message to rivals Arsenal and Manchester United, who have yet to come to Anfield.
The Reds have lost all four matches against Arsenal and United this season and Kuyt reckons they will be determined to put the record straight.
Kuyt said: "We still have to play against United and Arsenal here and we feel as though we want to show what we can do against them. We have a lot of confidence now."
