SPURS BID FOR SHERINGHAM AND HAREWOOD
Tottenham are so desperate to sign a new striker that not only did they make a £4m bid for Marlon Harewood yesterday but...wait for it...according to The Independent, 'they even considered a move for the veteran old boy Teddy Sheringham'. Good grief. That really is desperate. The Indy says that Sheringham was only considered as short-term cover for the injured Dimitar Berbatov (whose injury is worse than first expected). However, Harewood is wanted as a replacement for Mido. Martin Jol has had enough of the Egyptian and will sell him to anyone - possibly Man Citeh or Celta Vigo - who will take him.
With the tedious Gareth Bale still stalling on his proposed move to White Hart Lane, The Daily Mail says that Spurs are 'expected to agree a fee of £2.5m with Derby for their highly rated left-winger Giles Barnes'.
