Van der Sar suffers broken nose
Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar could face a spell on the sidelines after breaking his nose in Sunday's 4-0 victory over Tottenham.
The 36-year-old Dutch keeper was forced off after a late clash with Spurs striker Robbie Keane, with midfielder John O'Shea taking over in goal.
United's assistant boss Carlos Queiroz said: "Edwin needs a scan. We must wait and see what kind of fracture he has."
Van der Sar has pulled out of Holland's squad to play Russia on Wednesday.
"There was a lot of blood coming out so Edwin had to come off," United boss Sir Alex Ferguson added.
"We have got a new nickname for John O'Shea now - 'The Cat'."
United, who had already secured the points by the time Van der Sar was injured, were forced to turn to O'Shea as they had used all three of their substitutes.
The Republic of Ireland defender was called into action before the end when he came out to deny Keane on the edge of the area.
broken nose only....should be back for the next game
