John O'Shea admits the current crop of Manchester United players are 'daring to think' about emulating the 1999 Treble-winning team.
Following Sunday's 4-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur, United sit six points clear at the top of the Premiership and are also through to the fifth round of the FA Cup.
The UEFA Champions League resumes later this month, with The Red Devils meeting French side Lille in the last 16.
O'Shea concedes the players are wary about talking up their trophy chances, but acknowledges the Treble is a possibility.
"We dare to think it is possible," said O'Shea. "We know if we get that little bit of luck along the way then it is definitely a possibility.
"We're experienced enough to know, though, if we start talking about things like that then we will end up with no trophies.
"But there is a confident feeling within the team and with the way the manager and the coaching staff have been dealing with things this season."
The versatile Irishman feels the 2007 team compares favourably with the 1999 vintage in terms of talent, but accepts there is less experience in the present squad.
He added: "They probably had more experience in terms of age.
"In particular the four strikers we had then were proven, which is the only thing this squad is lacking.
"But in terms of talent, this team is up there."
