When you hear the familiar 'Gong Xi Fa Cai' tunes playing in shops everywhere, you know...Chinese New Year is here again! And in Singapore, what's Chinese New Year without the annual Chingay Parade? Asia's grandest street and floats parade is back this year, bigger and better than before! For the first time in Chingay history, two pairs of stnading spaces on the Chingay Opening Float will be auctioned off on EBay. This charity auction will start on Thursday, 8 February on the ebay official site:
http://ebay.com.sg/charity/ and all proceeds will be donated to the President's Challenge. Winners will get to travel in the Float during the Parade on Saturday, 24 February 2007, and enjoy the company of our Lions, led by captain Aide Iskandar, alongside MTV Asia's celebrity twins May and Choy.

This is the first time that our National Football Team, Champions of the recently concluded 2007 Asean Football Championship, is taking part in the Chingay Parade.
"I'm sure their fans are as thrilled as the players themselves, at the opportunity to be part of this highly anticipated event," says Ms Stephanie Kok, General Manager (Marketing), Football Association of Singapore.
"Doing our part for the community and needy has always been a major emphasis of the FAS, and while we are glad that fans recognize the achievements of our national players on the pitch, we hope they will extend this support to charity as well, by bidding to join our players on the float.”
Besides standing spaces, there are also five pairs of premium Chingay tickets that will be put up for auction! Winners will get to sit in the Paragon Viewing Gallery.
