Frank Lampard admits Chelsea captain John Terry fears he has suffered a bad injury.
Terry was forced off during the early stages off The Blues' 1-1 draw with Porto in the first leg of their last 16 UEFA Champions League tie on Wednesday.
The centre-half was taken off with ankle ligament damage and has already been ruled out of Sunday's Carling Cup final against Arsenal.
Early reports have suggested that Terry is also facing a battle to be fit in time for England's Euro 2008 qualifiers with Israel and Andorra at the end of March.
His Chelsea team-mate Lampard spoke to his skipper about the injury and feels Terry would not have come off for just a minor knock.
"It's an ankle injury," Lampard told Sky Sports News.
"I asked him at half-time and he wasn't sure how bad it was, it felt bad at the time.
"I don't think John comes off unless it's pretty painful."
Andrei Shevchenko's goal earned Chelsea the draw in Portugal and Lampard feels the result sets the players up for the cup showpiece with Arsenal.
He added: "We're confident anyway, we're playing well as a team and it's a good result for us.
"It's a massive game, Arsenal are a big team, but we want to get our first trophy."

I think someone in this forum said something about Terry when he returns from his back injury.
Terry is getting fragile these days. Just pray hard that he doesn't turn out to be Woodgate No 2.
