Manchester United wide man Cristiano Ronaldo has paid tribute to Ryan Giggs ahead of his team-mate's 700th appearance for the league leaders.
On Saturday Giggs will become only the second United player in the club's history to reach the 700 landmark, with the Welshman looking odds-on to eventually overtake Sir Bobby Charlton's record of 759 appearances.
Anfield will be the venue for Giggs' remarkable achievement as Liverpool play host to United in a noon kick-off, with his manager Sir Alex Ferguson having played a glowing tribute earlier this week.
Ronaldo, who operates on the opposite flank to Giggs, is full of admiration for the loyalty and dedication shown by his team-mate but also concedes he is unlikely to reach such a figure himself.
"It is an unbelievable achievement," Ronaldo told MUTV.
"It is difficult to imagine myself doing that, almost impossible. But it is great for Ryan. He is a great example to all the young players.
"The best present we can give him would be a win. If we can do that, we would be 12 points in front, which is where everyone wants to be.
"It would take us another step closer achieving our objective, which is winning the Premier League."
