Sir Alex Ferguson has again stressed that an injury crisis up front will not lead to Henrik Larsson extending his stay at Manchester United.
The veteran striker's loan spell expires next week and he is scheduled to return to Helsingborgs in time for the new Swedish season.
But there have been persistent reports that the Premiership leaders could try to keep Larsson until May, particularly given the club's injury problems.
Louis Saha has been ruled out of Wednesday's UEFA Champions League tie with Lille due to injury, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is out until the end of the month.
Alan Smith is still not fully match fit, leaving Ferguson with just Wayne Rooney as a striking option until Saha recovers.
Ferguson, though, insists the current situation will not see the parties involved going back on the original deal which took Larsson to Old Trafford in January.
"Henrik Larsson definitely goes back to Sweden next week," said Ferguson.
"He will play in the European charity game on Tuesday, then he will go home.
"An agreement has been reached between myself, Henrik and the respective clubs.
"There is nothing we can do about that now, much as we would like to."
