FRANK LAMPARD is anxious to avoid Liverpool in tomorrow’s Champions League draw. Chelsea go into the pot for the quarter-finals along with their old Kop rivals. The last thing they want is a repeat of their narrow semi-final defeat of two years ago - and Rafa Benitez’s men have already shown how dangerous they are by eliminating reigning champions Barcelona.Blues midfielder Lampard said: “It’s a tough one to call. Do you prefer to play an Englishc side or an AC Milan, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich? “English games are tough, because they throw up different problems.”
Lampard, who played a key part in TuesdayÂ’s 2-1 win over Porto, revealed he is still waiting for club officials to offer him a new contract. But he insisted the future of manager Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge was not significant.
Lampard added: “There’s no update on the contract. It’s down to the club to come to me with an offer and I’m waiting for that. “There are a lot of things going on at present and we’re at the stage of the season where it’s very important.
"There’s plenty of time. It has been said I’m waiting on Jose’s future but the two issues are not tied.”
