Bayern Munich star Owen Hargreaves has set his sights on securing an England recall.
The midfielder is close to full fitness having overcome the broken leg he suffered last autumn.
Hargreaves will get the chance to impress England manager Steve McClaren who is set to take in Bayern's clash with Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
And he is eager to make his mark as he wants to be involved in this month's Euro 2008 qualifiers with Israel and Andorra.
"I definitely want to be back to top form by then as I'm looking forward to those games and they are definitely a goal of mine," he told The Sun.
"They will be big games for England and we also have big games coming up for Bayern including the second leg against Real Madrid.
"It was a very difficult time for me when I was out for so long with my injury.
"I went from the high of the World Cup to five months of frustration because I couldn't play.
"But I worked hard to come back and I've been getting stronger every week.
"England is very important to me and I want to show I'm over my problems. The only way to do that is on the pitch."
