MILAN are desperate to face Liverpool in a repeat of the epic 2005 Champions League final. The Reds beat the Italians on penalties in Instanbul after recovering from three goals down to force extra-time.
Milan were left shellshocked after Kop skipper Steve Gerrard inspired an unforgettable fightback. But Milan ace Cafu wants a rematch in tomorrow's quarter-final draw to banish his nightmare memories of that night.
The Brazilian right-back said: "I promise you we will do everything to beat them and try to forget that defeat. "What happened in Istanbul was amazing - unbelievable - one of those things that wonÂ’t happen again.
"I am kind of a cold guy and I donÂ’t suffer much because of the past. "But it would be obviously special for us to meet Liverpool again and beat them this time."
Cafu still recoils in horror at the memory of Andriy Shevchenko missing his crucial penalty to hand Liverpool the trophy. He added: "It is hard to describe. It was like a cold water shower or as if a piano had fallen onto your head. "I was destroyed but it is part of this great game called football."
