Terry in threat to quit Chelsea

JOHN TERRY could quit Chelsea once this season ends. Talks over a new contract have broken down. Now the Blues’ skipper is ready to use FIFA rules to buy out the two years left on his current £90,000-a-week deal.
Terry expected a £130,000-a week offer at least when he had talks with chief executive Peter Kenyon last week. That would put him on the same contract as Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack.
Terry, 26, said he wanted to stay for life, having been at the club since the age of 14. He believed Chelsea were prepared to give him a nine-year contract. But Chelsea insisted the maximum available was five and offered him only a minor pay increase.
Terry is furious and could now join Frank Lampard in possibly heading to the likes of Barcelona. Doctors will decide today if he can return for tomorrowÂ’s FA Cup quarter-final with Spurs.
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho admits he has not met Roman Abramovich for more than two months. The Russian billionaire was last seen by the players or manager in person after the Boxing Day home win over Reading.
Mourinho revealed: “The last time I saw him happy was at the end of the game against Porto. I saw him on TV.” -

hmm, i find it strange that given Terry's tremendous influence and sacrifice to the club and team, i would have expected chelsea to treat him better, maybe its Romans way of seeing players who wanted to revolt due to Mourinho to leave the club?

There can alway be a new beginning... Anyway, before Roman came... Chelsea were nothing also, they were not even considered in the "big 4". So it wouldn't be a big blow, as long as the money is there everything will still be business as usual... Afterall, they came together because of Roman's money. That is more important than Terry, Lampard or Jose put together... If the money is gone, even with these 3 fellows they won't be able to do much. Wouldn't you agree? -

Chelsea only have themselves to blame for all this, They spoilt the market now they are not happy with the players demand...
Of course Terry will feel he deserve more than Shevchenko and Ballack afterall, he has been there much longer than them.

Adding them to the present Watford team won't make them title contenders not even in the next 3 yrs... No matter how influential they can be, its still a team game. Chelsea chose not to comment on Saturday on reports that contract negotiations with captain John Terry have collapsed. Terry may return from his horror head injury to face Tottenham in the FA Cup quarter-final at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
If he is unable to agree a new deal with the Blues Terry could use FIFA rules to buy out the two years left on his current deal, which is worth a reported £90,000-a-week. Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho insisted on Friday that the club would do all it could to keep its English stars.
Mourinho said: "We are in a good situation, we don't have players whose contracts end this summer. "We don't have to make quick decisions about players who are in their last year.
"Everybody knows about the players we want to keep and Chelsea will do everything they can to keep them. "In the case of John and Frank Lampard and other players, Chelsea will do everything to make them stay."
Meanwhile Kenyon says the club are hopeful that Lampard will re-sign soon. Kenyon added: "We have had some initial discussions. Clearly he has two years left on his contract and we would expect him to enter into serious negotiations quickly with us and hopefully re-sign him for the future as we see Frank as a long term player." -

Wah... Terry wants a 9 years contract at $130,000 a week... Don't he think its too much considering his age already? His demands include he wants to be the highest paid player at the club during these 9 years so if 5 yrs down the road when he is already 30+ and no longer the player he was, they must still pay him more than whoever they bring in at that time...
Arsenal gave Fabregas a 8 yrs contract but he is much younger than Terry right... I don't think any other clubs is willing to offer him a 9 yrs contract at $130,000 weekly considering his age...
He has to lower his demands or Chelsea will kick him out... -
Lampard goes = disaster for Chelsea, no midfield control liaoz...
Terry goes = nightmare... no power defender to stop other striker;s attack...
Jose goes = no commanding and control to team...
