Dunga has assured Roma's Alessandro Mancini that he can still break into the Brazil squad.
Mancini recently voiced his disappointment at missing out on a place in the squad for Brazil's upcoming friendlies against Chile and Ghana.
He felt he had been playing well enough to merit a call-up, but admitted it was difficult to imagine being picked in the playmaker role ahead of Ronaldinho.
Dunga accepts that there is fierce competition for places, but has given Mancini hope for the future.
"Mancini started out like a right defender, but now he plays with the forwards as a left winger," Dunga commented.
"In that zone I already have Ronaldinho, who is the number one player in the world, and Robinho, who is a special talent.
"But the door to the squad is not closed."
Mancini helped Roma progress to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League with a brilliant individual goal in the 2-0 victory over Lyon last week.
And Dunga noted: "Mancini's goal in Lyon was really sensational."
could really use a right winger like him
he's goal is one of the best this season ucl. but one great goal wont justify your worthiness for a call up
