Roma coach Luciano Spalletti has had a dig at Sir Alex Ferguson after Francesco Totti's double against Udinese.
Manchester United will meet the Italian side in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League in early April.
Following last Friday's draw for the quarter-finals, Ferguson revealed his excitement at facing Roma for the first time in European competition.
He nominated Daniele de Rossi and Alessandro Mancini as 'great players' for the Italians, but did not mention their talismanic captain Totti.
And Totti's omission from Ferguson's thoughts drew a response from Roma chief Spalletti after Sunday's win over Udinese.
Spalletti quipped: "Now Ferguson will also be aware of him in Manchester!"
Totti's brace kept him at the top of the Serie A scoring charts for the season and he was rewarded with further praise from his coach.
"Francesco is living in a moment in which he does everything," added Spalletti. "He also scored with his head.
"The penalty? Francesco always scores those that count."
