Bayer defender Juan issues plea to AC Milan
Bayer Leverkusen's Brazilian defender Juan looks set to leave the German club after issuing a come-and-get-me plea to AC Milan.
The 28-year-old has been impressive in his time at the BayArena having moved to the club after the 2002 World Cup, but has made it clear he will not be staying to see out his contract, which ends in 2009.
He told the Corriere dello Sport: 'My dream would be to join Milan. They are a great club - the best, in fact.
'It is a side packed with Brazilians and you can see their desire to get back to winning ways, much like Real Madrid.'
Having scored in Brazil's 4-0 win over Chile at the weekend, it seems he harbours desires of joining fellow countrymen Kaka, Ronaldo, Cafu, Dida, Serginho and Ricardo Oliveira at the San Siro and Bayer appear to have admitted defeat in their efforts to keep him with Roma also interested.
'In all probability we will lose Juan,' Bayer director of sport Rudi Voeller said. 'It is not yet decided whether he will go to Roma or another southern European club.'
