Americans George Gillett and Tom Hicks have completed their takeover of Liverpool.
A statement released to the Stock Exchange by Kop Football Limited, the company formed by Hicks and Gillett, confirmed that they had reached agreement to buy 98.6 per cent of the club's shares.
Under Stock Exchange rules, the remaining shares can now be purchased under a compulsory purpose order.
The share offer from Gillett and Hicks is now closed and the pair also confirmed that they will re-register the club as a private company.
