Steven Gerrard says personal milestones will count for nothing if Liverpool fail to reach the UEFA Champions League final.
The Reds placed one foot firmly in the semi-finals when putting PSV Eindhoven to the sword at the Philips Stadion on Tuesday.
England star Gerrard was on target in Holland and his goal took him past Ian Rush in Liverpool's list of all-time European Cup scorers.
Gerrard has admitted to being a little embarrassed at moving ahead of Rush and says his focus is solely on team success.
"It's nice, but it's not important," Gerrard told it's website. "What's important is that we get to the European Cup final.
"It is nice to score goals along the way, but the most important thing is the team and we get into the last four."
Gerrard claims the club's focus is on securing glory in Europe.
He added: "A top-four finish is another aim of ours, but this is the most important thing and we need to make sure we continue to the end. We have a really good chance.
"It is a fantastic result. We have one foot in the semi-final but as a footballer you have to be professional and it's not over until it's over. We will try and perform in the same way in the second leg.
"I don't know what their game plan is going to be at Anfield. We have to make sure we don't concede a goal and then we are in the last four."
