The Football Association has cleared Tottenham after an investigation into events following the FA Cup replay against Chelsea last month, when a fan ran on to the pitch and attempted to punch Frank Lampard. The England midfielder ducked away from the fan's attack and he was restrained by Chelsea players. "After reviewing a video of the incident and receiving a full report from Spurs, there will not be any disciplinary action against the club," said an FA spokesman. At the time the FA described the scenes as "totally unacceptable". The fan involved, 18-year-old Tommy Smith, has since been given a three-year ban from football matches and is banned for life from White Hart Lane.
