Steve Finnan is keen to land a new deal with Liverpool.
The defender, who moved to Anfield from Fulham in 2003, would like to stay on Merseyside for the foreseeable future.
"I would definitely like to sign for more time, but that's up to other people," he told the club's website.
"Everyone can see the club is heading in the right direction with the new owners. It's an exciting time. Everyone wants to be part of it, especially me."
Finnan is a virtual ever-present in the Reds side and has made 41 appearances for the club this season.
The 30-year-old is pleased with his own form but is more focused on the team's success as they sit in third spot in the Premiership.
"I'm happy with how things are going for me, but more especially for the team," he added.
