Portsmouth keeper David James has admitted he wants Manchester United to win the Premiership as Chelsea's title bid is built on 'scabby 1-0 wins'.
James played a large part in frustrating United on Saturday as they fell to a 2-1 defeat at Fratton Park that leaves Sir Alex Ferguson's side just three points ahead of the reigning champions.
With six games left to play the title run-in could be the closest fought battle in recent years, and James has revealed he is firmly in Ferguson's corner.
The former Liverpool keeper believes United hold the edge over their rivals in terms of pure entertainment, likening Jose Mourinho's side to George Graham's 'boring Arsenal' of the early 1990s.
"Chelsea might fancy themselves now, especially when they have got to play United at home," said James in The newspaper.
"I fancy Chelsea, too, with their scabby 1-0 wins!
"That is the way they do it. United are all about goals and fantastic displays, Chelsea are about grinding out results - and arguably that is the mark of champions.
"As a fan, yes, I'd rather United win. But Chelsea have something to play for now.
"As much as they aren't battering teams, they are grinding out results. I'm sure Manchester United have something to think about now.
"Chelsea are like the old Arsenal sides. They win 1-0 and you call them a boring side."
what matters are the 3 points from the match.. be it 1-0, 2-1 or 5-4, its still a win..
boring or not, does it really matter
luck is the factor
true la. chelsea have so many 1-0 wins
Portsmouth's James: Scabby Chelsea look like champs

Portsmouth goalkeeper David James admits Chelsea and their "scabby wins" make them look like champions.
After helping Pompey to victory over Premiership leaders Manchester United on Saturday, James said: "Chelsea might fancy themselves, especially with their scabby 1-0 wins and the fact they have to play United.
"That's the way they're doing it. United are all about goals and fantastic displays, but Chelsea are grinding out results and arguably that's the mark of champions.
"In Chelsea, you've got the old Arsenal in some respects because they used to win 1-0. They got called a boring side but that's what Chelsea do."
