Everton are optimistic injured striker James Vaughan will play again this term.
The teenager was ferried to hospital on Easter Monday, having severed an artery during the 1-1 draw with Bolton.
Test confirmed he had suffered no lasting damage and Toffees physio Mick Rathbone expects the 18-year-old to be back in action within four weeks.
"We are cautiously optimistic he will be back playing within the next three to four weeks," Rathbone told the club's official website.
"The cut didn't look too bad but there was a lot of blood so he went to hospital.
"He wasn't happy about coming off the park but it would have been a dereliction of duty on my behalf to let him carry on with the amount of blood around the wound."
Everton skipper Phil Neville has admitted the Toffees players were worried for Vaughan when they saw the injury.
"Our hearts were in our mouths when it happened," he said.
"Andy Johnson signalled for a stretcher straight away and even Alan Stubbs could see there was a lot of blood from where he was.
"Touch wood he will soon be fine."

I think James Vaughan is quite a good player... Probably the new rooney at Everton... Good thing he probably won't be fit when Man u come to visit on April 28... But he could be when Everton goes to chelsea on the last day in May 13...
