ARSENE WENGER insisted Arsenal’s fans were within their rights to boo the team. Late goals from Cesc Fabregas and Julio Baptista finally settled a tense showdown. Boss Wenger insisted: “As professionals we have to deal with the crowd’s frustration and it is up to us to transport them to a different world.”But Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce was not so sure and said: “The next time I go to the theatre I will let some thespians have it and then claim I pay their wages as I’m leaving! "That’s the nature of the Premier League now. Apart from the top two, there’s not a team who haven’t been booed at home this season.
“With 60 minutes gone tonight we’re sitting comfortably with the fans booing Arsenal. At one stage I thought we were at home and the crowd were having a go at me again! “But then one of their players has pulled out a wonder strike and it’s all over.”
Gunners boss Wenger predicted a brilliant future for goal hero Fabregas, adding: “There is still a lot more to come from him. “He is not yet 20 and a player does not go from a boy to a young man until the age of 22. That’s when you really develop physically. “Yet even as a young boy he can dominate games like he has done tonight. He is already a big authority on the pitch.”
