Teddy Sheringham admits he is unsure if he will play on for another season.
The 41-year-old is in the autumn of his career and has not played for West Ham since the end of January.
Sheringham expects to leave West Ham in the summer and admits to having been approached by Millwall, but is unsure of his plans for next term.
"I don't know what I will do next season," he told the daily website. "I don't know if I am retiring or going into management or playing again.
"We will wait and see what happens in the summer.
"Normally after about three or four weeks of being away, I can't wait to get back involved again and I am sure that will be the same again."
Sheringham has admitted that he was approached by Millwall earlier in the season, but says the timing was not quite right.
"There have been one or two things in the past six months," he added. "I have not actually been offered, but people have spoken about things and I have said I am not quite ready for those situations yet.
"I still want to be a player, I still love playing and long may that continue as you are a long time finished."
