Martin Jol admits winning a trophy is the only way to satisfy the demands of Tottenham Hotspur.
Though Spurs have been unable to challenge for UEFA Champions League qualification like last season, the club have enjoyed lengthy runs in the cup competitions this term.
Spurs reached the semi-finals of the Carling Cup, and also advanced to the quarter-finals of the Uefa Cup and FA Cup.
But Jol accepts that, while some clubs would consider those achievements to amount to a successful season, it is not the case at White Hart Lane.
"First we wanted to compete, to be in Europe and now we want to have the structure for Europe, and that is something hopefully for this year or the year after," said Jol.
"At any other club, if you play two quarter-finals and a semi-final in a season they would be satisfied.
"Here they want to win something. I know that and can live with that.
"The whole fanbase and the board. They can tell me whatever they like and say we did well, but you can see it in their eyes that there is one big thing - we want to win something."
he signed so many players but yet spurs hardly improved.
he should take a good look at their defence. it is terrible!!!!
