Gattuso proud of United interest

Gennaro Gattuso sees his future at Milan, but is proud to have been wanted by Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Ahead of the two clubs' UEFA Champions League semi-final meeting on Tuesday, Gattuso revealed his admiration for English football.
But the uncompromising Italian, who is under contract at Milan until 2011, admits he does not expect any further opportunities to move to Old Trafford.
"Some contacts were made, but I see my future at Milan now," Gattuso told The Sun.
"But you cannot be anything other than proud when the United manager wants to sign you.
"I once said my dream was to play in England and that the team I liked best was United.
"I really like the atmosphere in England and I think my way is probably more suited to English football than Italy."
The midfielder is desperate to see off United in the semi-finals as he wants the chance to exact revenge on Liverpool for Milan's penalty shoot-out defeat in the 2005 Champions League final.
He added: "After the final against Liverpool I wanted to quit the club, not because I didn't like Milan any more, but because I was so sad about what happened.
"Now I would really like to play Liverpool in the final again." -
SAF had chased after him before but Milan wasn't interested in selling him then now seems like SAF was again rejected, Gattuso is probably a better buy then Owen

in anyway SAF wouldn't be around ManU in 5 years time at most, so his priorty should be to get the best out of this couple of years and having Gattuso who is probably in his peak around this age, should be a good choice, then again it would also be the 1st round of mind games that SAF is trying to play before the big match

gatusso is the one who sits infront of the defence. but we dont have an attacking midfielder to complement that. scholes is now withdrawn to a more central role and always choosin to pass rather than to shoot.
i dont think manu need anyone in midfield now, not even hargreaves. but they do seriously need a striker and a right back. pls dont even mention bardsley. -

Better for Gattuso to stay at Milan.
Andrea Pirlo and him complement each other perfectly.
I dun see anyone at Man united capable of filling Pirlo's role.
