You have an extra 'url' tag at the end of your post. Go to the screen for editing your post and you'll get what I mean.Originally posted by Rock^Star:Shucks.....I can't rectify it. Anyone can help me?
If not, go youtube and type "kuyt offside".
Tried but can't. Tks anyway.Originally posted by SumOne:You have an extra 'url' tag at the end of your post. Go to the screen for editing your post and you'll get what I mean.
Also, the link itself has a '8' and 'O' right next to watch other. Which will appear as a smiley '' and mess up the URL tag.
Look again, when the ball just left Kuyt's teammate (can't see who that is), Kuyt was still onside. He only "appeared" offside a split second later.Originally posted by SumOne:Btw, in my opinion, Kuyt was marginally offside. I think ref and linesman got it right.
No offence, but I looked at it 3 times after your first post, another 2 times now after this post. But I still feel it's offside. Reason being Kuyt was just behind the last Chelsea defender just before the ball was kicked.Originally posted by Rock^Star:Look again, when the ball just left Kuyt's teammate (can't see who that is), Kuyt was still onside. Just for discussion's sake.Originally posted by the Bear:i think he was offside...
but then, it doesn't matter now, does it?
Sure dude. Each to his own views.Originally posted by SumOne:No offence, but I looked at it 3 times after your first post, another 2 times now after this post. But I still feel it's offside. Reason being Kuyt was just behind the last Chelsea defender just before the ball was kicked.
I managed to get a screenshot where Kuyt is pass the last defender just before the ball leaves his team-mate's foot. Been trying to upload it but geocities is down at the moment.
check the 9 sec of the clip you put the link to.
Apologies, I meant the 8 sec mark. Not that I'm trying that hard to prove my point, but since I took the screen shot, and I will be trying to make sure my geocities account is ok. I'll post it up anyway. But thanks for understanding my point.Originally posted by Rock^Star:Sure dude. Each to his own views.

Here it is. A little bit of quality compromised but that's the best I could manage.Originally posted by Rock^Star:No apologies re'qd.
Sure post it up pls. I would love to be in the know.

Your screen shot and mine are exactly one second apart.Originally posted by zocoss:Yeah, i thought he was on also... Very close call... Lucky pool won or this could end up as the talking point of their semi-final.
Thanks. Guess it's different intepretation of the offside rule. Pretty confusing afterall.Originally posted by Rock^Star:Hmm......still looks onside to me. Oh well anyway, good picture.
That was informative!Originally posted by SumOne:Thanks. Guess it's different intepretation of the offside rule. Pretty confusing afterall.
Btw.... since we're on topic of offside. My friend gave me this link last time.

People may disagree it's an offiside, but I think it can be agreed it's a tough call.Originally posted by zocoss:The problem i guess is the linesman... or ass referee...
From his position, he would probably saw Kuyt as "offside"
Actually, I think the biggest confusion is this part.Originally posted by Rock^Star:That was informative!
Kuyt was closer to linesman than the Chelsea defender, so an imagery error could have occured. And from the picture, camera angles play a huge part too. Oh well......
Commiting an Offside Offence
A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee, involved in active play by:
* interfering with play
* interfering with an opponent
* gaining an advantage by being in that position
