Pippo Inzaghi struck twice as AC Milan gained revenge for their 2005 Champions League final defeat against Liverpool with victory in Athens.
Inzaghi scored a freak opener in first-half injury time, unwittingly deflecting Andrea Pirlo's free-kick past a wrong-footed Pepe Reina.
Steven Gerrard missed a glorious chance to equalise before Inzaghi slid home a second eight minutes from time.
Dirk Kuyt pulled one back with a header with a minute left, but time ran out.

Before the match,there were 2 schools of thought regarding the 2007 Euro Cup final.
1.Milan to take revenge.
2.There will be a repeat of 2005 coz Pool had done it before,so why not.
From what I observed from papers,online forums and articles in respectable footie webbies,the 2nd school was more prevalent.
Well,I think Pool actually believed whatever was said by the media,they believed their own hype and that caused their own downfall... -

imho , liverpool played well though , the better side lost. same goes to the 2005 champions league final , the better side lost too. -
Might have been a more controlled game with fewer chances and less action. But more importantly, I think it was a good match overall. So nothing wrong with it from a footballing perspective.
