Unhappy Terry 'will leave Chelsea'

Chelsea skipper John Terry is reported to be ready to hand in a transfer request after Saturday's FA Cup final if he is not offered a new deal which makes him the highest paid player at Stamford Bridge. Reports suggest the England captain and inspirational centre-half is reputed to be furious he is not being paid the same wages as Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack.
Terry feels he has given his all for the Chelsea cause while last summer's two expensive signings have been criticised for failing to hit top gear during their first season with the Blues. Frank Lampard is also reported to share similar views as his friend and international team-mate although both players have insisted their ideal is to stay with the deposed Premiership champions for the long haul.
A source revealed: "I was told his agent is saying Terry could put in a written transfer request days after the FA Cup Final." Terry has also spoken about being a future manager at Chelsea but is angered at what he perceives to be a lack of respect from the King's Road hierarchy. -

I think he is asking for too much... Maybe $120,000 per week still ok, and forget about the 9 yrs contract... No one is going to give him a 9 yrs contract. Even Fabregas at Arsenal got a 8 yrs at most and how old is he... 19, 20?
Terry should be happy with a 5 yrs at $120 000. He can see that even Gerrard will be getting $120 000 with a standard 4 yrs contract. And Gerrard is only about 2 yrs older than him...
In the end, he will have to accept i belief cos no one else in Europe is going to pay him $130,000 per week with maybe a $15 to $20m transfer fee. -

Erm, considering that he's actually the backbone of Chelsea, will that really be too much to ask for? Remember how miserably Chelsea had performed whenever they were without him.
But of course, for that kind of money, they could probably find another defensive backbone... but will it be so easy? Clubs will try to inflate their players' prices, and the players are also probably going to try get themselves a ridiculous sum of weekly wage. Because that's what Chelsea did for their players, and everyone knows that, and are probably more than ready to exploit it.
Morever, Ballack and Shev haven't been performing great this season but yet they get such astronomical weekly wage. Terry must be thinking that a consistent good performer like him, doesn't deserve to get only 70,000 pounds per week! -

I think it is Carvalho who is the real backbone at Chelsea. Terry only know how to talk and shout and scream but it is and was Carvalho and Gallas that made him look so good at the back... And i don't think the money is the real problem here, $10,000 difference probably can still accept but asking for a 9 yrs contract? And want to be given a chance to manage the club in 9 yrs time? That is just asking too much i think... Sol Cambell probably a better defender than Terry at his age lost his first team place at Arsenal at the age of 32... Do you serious think Terry can last till 32 at the top level? What you say are very much valid.
1) Nine years is hell of a long contract.
2) His demanded pay belongs to the astronomical and ridiculous group. I don't think even Ballack and Shev should be paid that much.
3) I do think his attitude smells of arrogance and big-headedness.
