Roman Abramovich : ‘take it or leave it’

CHELSEA have issued ‘take it or leave it’ deals to Frank Lampard, John Terry and Arjen Robben. And it means the Blues trio will be on less money than Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack.
Owner Roman Abramovich has declared no one will be paid more than Sheva and Ballack — who earn £121,000 a week. And even though Lampard, Terry and Robben have all been central to the success Chelsea have achieved in the past three seasons, none has even been offered the same deal as the two newcomers.
Robben is the latest player to see a new contract on the table but has been told there will be no negotiations. The Holland winger has been offered a new four-year agreement worth £84,000 a week. Winger Robben is currently on £62,000 per week and, like Lamps and Terry, has two years left on his contract.
Chelsea skipper Terry has been been offered a deal worth £115,000 a week, which he has refused. Vice-captain Lampard has also rejected his offer. Lampard and Terry feel aggrieved they have not been rewarded with at least the same contract as Shevchenko and Ballack, who have yet to win a championship at the club.
Robben, 23, has been attracting interest from Bayern Munich and Barcelona and could feasibly resign from his contract after the FA Cup final having completed three years of it. Midfielder Lamps, 28, is in a similar position. Centre-half Terry, 26, is also bemused by the way the club are treating him and his situation has led to an enquiry by Italian giants AC Milan.
Chelsea now face the daunting prospect of losing three of their most influential stars unless they soften their stance. -

Why will man u want these 2 fellows, Lampard & Terry? First of all Man u already have settled players in that position and they are asking for such high salaries... robben and lampard can be replaced but terry is the heart and soul of the team. i think they should sell off ballack and sheva and then offer terry a new contract.

i think money is one issue, the other would be recognition.
If i am working and i see my colleague doing a stuffed up job and yet get paid more than me, it's natural to feel pissed. Moreover, Terry's the captain.
I'm not complaining though.. he can always come to arsenal

Roman Abramovich has adopted a tough stance with Chelsea stars John Terry and Frank Lampard by telling them they will not become the highest paid players at Stamford Bridge. The bombshell news on the eve of the FA Cup final will shock the two England internationals, who epitomise the effort which has gone into the club's enormous success over the past few seasons.
The duo will be staggered to learn they will not be offered new contracts which match Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack. Dutch winger Arjen Robben has also been warned not to expect a massive hike in his salary.
Chelsea captain Terry has been offered £115,000-a-week but has rejected the deal as he chases parity with the top-paid foreign imports. Lampard has also turned down the club's initial offer which has been sanctioned by Abramovich. They feel that they deserve more - especially as the arrival of Shevchenko and Ballack failed to help the Blues win the Premiership title for a third successive season, according to a report in The Sun. -

I don't deny that Ronaldo has dived to win penalties but most of the time, he has been genuinely felled.
Chelsea? Fair play? This season, yes. Title winning seasons? No.
